Gail Mansel was born into this world Gail Dean on November 9, 1959. She was the first of six siblings that were born to Herbert and Carolyn Dean. She screamed her first breath at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. She lived a rural, but happy lifestyle. She played with her siblings in the forests that surrounded her home, and at an early age developed a love for nature. She attended high school and later went on to a brief stint at college.

In 1995, she married the love of her life, Christopher Mansel. Over a year later, she bore the next love of her life, her daughter Carrie, who was born on August 14, 1996. The happy family reside in Florence, Alabama which it wedged into the Bible belt of Northwest Alabama.

Gail has experimented with many religions throughout her life, but in 1994, she set her sights on the true old religion witchcraft. She dedicated her life and purpose to the Goddess Hecate soon after. She is a gifted witch and green woman. She has begun to expand her knowledge, once again, to include Hoodoo. On Beltane 2005, she and I, along with her sister Bonnie and her daughter Carrie, held our first ritual as a group. Then on Samhain later that year, we officially dedicated ourselves to our coven, and to each other. It has been the best year and the most magickally productive year of my life.

For You

In an incense engulfed room
laden with candles and ambiance
the essence of the green witch cometh.

Through her spoken word,
or her caring hug;
Through her quiet workings
for favorable court outcome;
Through the screech shattered camp night
or invasion of the locals and their cannon;
 I feel your love.

Walking beneath the Goddesses green essence
or feeling her coolness on our toes;
By the breeze she brings when we are smoldering;
or the distant sound of a falling tree;
Through the screech of the Goddess blessing us in the night
or the sight of her black feathers on the roadside;
I feel her love.

Through the gifts of spells (borrowed from Potter);
And the growth and sharing of knowledge acquired;
By sharing dreams of presumed importance;
Tears from lack of acceptance from others;
By giving of all to the non-judging group;
By sharing of the ‘pool’ of comfort;
I give my love.

Through work on dark nights and light;
Through energy sent on specific jobs;
Through the closeness of sisters;
Through the unimaginable joy;
Through immeasurable support and patience;
Through wisdom shared and received;
I  relish in the love we make.

Personal Commentary:

Ocsana is a very special woman. She is a green woman, a spiritual woman, a high priestess, a hoodoo conjure-woman, a triple goddess, a sister, and a friend. Before she became my coven sister, she became a very close and true friend. She and I met through a local wicca group, and became instant friends. I have loved and cherished her ever since.

Ocsana is one of those rare souls who is genuinely spiritual…through and through. As a daughter of Hecate, she has opened me up to the beautiful darkside of the Crone Goddess. We are connected mentally as well as physically. She and I share commonalities to the point of absurdity. We can read each others thoughts and feel each others pain. She is truly a goddess in human form. I thank the Goddess everyday for sending her to me. She has helped me to grow in so many ways. Through this mundane existence I call my life, I am truly blessed to be a coven sister and a friend of an Earthen Goddess like Ocsana Greenwitch.
