Daughter of Learning and of life
Experiencing growth through new eyes
seeing things in a fresh way
until change comes one day

Now Mother and creator of life
experiencing growth through nurturing eyes
watching your child at play
and then change comes again one day

Now the Grandmother, the Crone of life
watching growth through wise eyes
willing teach them all that you know
until it's time for you to go

Daughter of Life.....

Even though there are no legends left to verify her purpose, "Danù" was considered the Great Mother Goddess of the Ancient Irish and their people known as the "Tuatha De' Dannan" or the "People of the Goddess Danù"

She was an Earth Goddess and also considered to be connected with bodies of water. Her name is derived from the old Celtic "Dan" meaning "knowledge". Some see her as the Irish version of the Welsh Goddess "Don" and the same as the Irish Goddess "Anu" or "Ana" and aspects of "Brigid."

She may have been worshiped throughout the Celtic world as the "River Danube" is named for her and in the Hindu culture there is a Goddess "Danù"  which means "flu vial water."

She is considered a Goddess of fertility, plenty, magic, and wisdom. As the Mother Goddess of the "Tuatha De' Dannan" she is also believed to be able to see between the worlds As they were the ancient people that became the Sidhe or Fairy people that went under ground after they lost the battle with the "Milesians" from the Northwest. They were defeated at "Tailtiu" and the "Milesian" poet "Amergin" was called upon to divide the land between the "Tuatha De' Dannan" and his own people. He gave the portion above ground to the "Milesian" and the portion underground to the "Tuatha De' Dannan." At which time they were led underground by "Dagda" the "Good God" who was considered by some as "Danù's" son and by others as her father.

Well a lot has been lost over the centuries as to the legend of the Goddess "Danù", many Irish people still see her as the Great Mother of the land and waters. As well as Mother of the Sacred "Sidhe."
