Isis also known as Aset is an Egyptian Goddess. She was Osiris sister and consort.
Her sister, Nephthys, was said to be jealous of Isis because she saw Isis as beautiful
and she was married to Osiris who was also handsome. Nephthys was married to Seth who was not good to her.
Nephthys and Isis look almost alike and once Nephthys tricked Osiris to sleep with her because she dressed as Isis.
This tale shows the opposites, the light and the dark, Isis and Nephthys.

Isis is usually portrait in her throne as the Queen of the Nile.
She is also associated with the Black Madonna,
and She is said to be one of the Goddesses in the Mediterranean.
The Island of Philae is said to be Isis Temple and it is one of the most beautiful
Temples in Egypt.

Isis was a Goddess associated with healing, maternity, dancing, dreaming, oracles, and mysteries.
She had several Priestesses and devotees, some of them include Demetria, Lucious, Klea, Selene, among others.
Isis is also known as the Goddess of the Thousand Names, some of her most popular names
are Lady of Beauty, Lady of the Thunder, Mistress of All Things Forever, Lady of Flame,
Lady of Bread, Green Goddess, Great Virgin, among others.

Isis’ symbols include the Throne and the Ankh, her colors are yellows and gold.
The wings are also one of her symbols. She is said to be the Great Mother, the protectress of her children.
Her Hieroglyph is the AB or the Heart, the heart is usually the center of our spirituality,
our love for ourselves and others. In the Egyptian traditions, the heart was one of the most
important parts of the body and it was treasured.

My Creation

I painted this picture visualizing Isis and her symbols. She came to me as the Ankh and the brightness of the Sun.
She is guiding me and showing me the way.
