Isis
“Ancient and beloved, Isis nurtured Her native Egypt as Goddess of the Throne, Goddess of Love and Magic, the Great Sorceress Who Heals. Ever present, Her worship under the name of Isis is documented in the Pyramid texts of the Fourth Dynast (circa B.C.E) and probably stretches back into pre-historic times!”
Isis was the Goddess of all from seafarers, freed-women, merchants to emporers and commoners. She was known as a Goddess of complex nature or mysteries, She was worshipped in many parts - ancient London, France, Germany and throughout the Middle East. Pagan priests and priestesses fled to Her temples when the temples of other gods and goddesses were broken and burned.
Isis became known as Isis Amenti, the Hidden Goddess, and worshiped in disguise. The Virgin Mary had many of Isis titles applied to Her. As the personification of the “complete female,” Isis was known as “Lady of Ten Thousand Names.” As the model for future deities She was the embodiment of all lesser goddesses.
The path to Isis is a different experience for everyone. In these modern days Isis’ presence is felt in Theosophic philosophy, Masonic, as Goddess of some Wiccan traditions as well as in rites of ceremonial magicians. Isis takes a personal interest in all of her followers. As there are many unique individuals, so there are many ways to Isis.
Isis was know as the Goddess of fertility and motherhood. She played many roles in history and mythology. She was known as the female creator. She represents the femine aspects. Some of which are creation, rebirth, intuition, psychic abilities and mother nurturer.
Isis was the daughter of the God Geb and the Goddess Nut according to Helioplitan genealogy. She was a Goddess who spent time with her people. She taught the women to grind corn and make bread. She showed them how to spin flax and weave clothe, and she taught them how to tame the men enough to live with them. Her people learned the skills of reading and agriculture from her. They worshipped Her as the Goddess of medicine and wisdom.
